Back, pelvic & hip pain.
The pelvic girdle connects your spine to your legs and carries your load with every step. When it falls out of balance, the effects ripple through the whole body. Bowen therapy works to restore symmetry — gently and naturally.

Pelvic & hip balance
The pelvic girdle forms the connection — and is responsible for the transfer of load — between the lumbar spine (your lower back) and the legs. The sacroiliac joint is the largest axial joint in the body and an integral part of that girdle, sitting between the left and right hip, with very little natural movement.
In Bowen therapy, the biomechanics and neuromuscular dynamics of the pelvic girdle are carefully considered. Keeping this area in good order is of the utmost importance — effectively addressing pelvic girdle dysfunction helps re-establish symmetry throughout the body. Even imperfections in the ankles and Achilles tendon can strongly influence pelvic balance and function.
Misalignment in the hips can lead to lower back and knee pain, stiffness, scoliosis and many other side effects — so the hips are often where lasting relief begins.
Sciatica
Sciatica may come from degenerative disc changes in the lumbar and sacral area, or a disc bulge pressing against the nerve root — producing pain that runs down the back, thigh, leg and foot. It is caused by irritation of the sciatic nerve at its root in the spine, the lower back, or the sacral area.
Commonly, sciatica results from overly tight muscles around the hip placing pressure on the sacral nerve, with body functional asymmetry also to blame. Sometimes it really is as simple as one small muscle down the back of the leg pressurising the sciatic nerve — and that is often good news, because Good Bowen technique can reach a simple, positive solution.

Elbow & carpal tunnel
Tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, carpal tunnel and associated shoulder pain usually present as a side effect of inflammation and muscle overuse — strenuous work positions or repetitive medial rotation of the elbow, as well as falls and trauma at any age. The carpal tunnel, the nerve passage inside the wrist, can be interrupted by hand overuse or a fall, building inflammation and pressure on the nerve. Numbness and pins-and-needles are tell-tale signs.
Good Bowen Therapy has specific, gentle techniques for treating carpal tunnel — including releasing the harder scar tissue that can remain after carpal tunnel surgery.
